Before the move

  • What should I do if I don’t have enough moving boxes?

Are you packing but running out of moving boxes? No worries! Then we’ll make sure you get new ones. You can pick those up at our warehouse in Nunspeet. We can also arrange for the moving team to bring extra boxes on the day of the move.

  • How should I assemble the moving boxes?

Most moving boxes are so-called adhesive boxes. They are sturdy moving boxes of all shapes and sizes that stick shut with tape on the bottom and top. How exactly that works, we are happy to explain to you using the packing instructions.

  • How should I pack hanging clothes?

We use special wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes. These are man-sized moving boxes with a rod at the top. The clothing hangs on the rod and the boxes go upright in the moving van. Do we dismantle the closets for you? Then we also pack the hanging clothes for you. That’s our service!

  • How do I get moving boxes?

When you move with us, we provide the moving boxes. The appraiser estimates the number of moving boxes you’ll need to pack everything. He’ll leave those after the appraisal visit, or we’ll bring them to you! Once you agree to the estimate, we’ll schedule an appointment when we’ll come and bring the packing materials.

General

  • What payment methods are there?

During the appraiser’s recording visit, we agree on a method of payment. By default, this is done by PIN. The moving crew will then have a PIN device with them on the day of the move. But paying in advance or within 14 days is also possible! A different standard arrangement applies to international removals. There, the amount must be credited no later than five working days in advance. You will find the payment method we agree with you in the quotation or order confirmation.

  • How much does a move cost?

The price of a move varies. This is because it depends on how much stuff needs to be moved, but also what other work needs to be done. If we only move the large items, we are of course much shorter than with a complete move. That’s why we like to come by for a recording before every move. The appraiser then estimates what needs to be taken away and makes arrangements for the work to be done.

  • What types of moving boxes are there?

By default, we use three types of moving boxes. These are regular moving boxes, which fit all kinds of small moving items. We also use crockery boxes. These boxes are thicker and sturdier, and therefore good for already fragile things like dishes and glassware. Finally, we use book boxes. These are a lot smaller than regular moving boxes, and meant for books.

We have different types of moving trucks. Usually we come with a truck. A truck totals 12 meters and needs as much parking space as three passenger cars. Sometimes we come with a small moving truck, which we call a Brummi. This is a small truck and needs as much parking space as two passenger cars.

  • What does moving day look like?

Every move begins with a round through the house together with the foreman of the move. With him you agree on which items should go to which room in the new house. During that round, the foreman estimates in what order the moving van should be loaded. Usually the moving van is full by the end of the morning or early afternoon. Then the team sets sail for the new home. There, the movers unload the car again. Usually, the movers complete a move by the end of the afternoon. When everything is in place, you walk another round through the house. Then we check everything together before the team goes home.

  • How long does a move take?

A move usually takes all day. We start early in the morning, around 7:30am or 8:00am. We try to complete the move around 16.00h. Exactly how long the move takes depends on the volume and work to be done.
