What can we do?
- Packing all items that fit in a moving box.
- Packing all large items neatly and correctly.
- Taking apart and reassembling loose furniture.
- Taking down and re-hanging lamps, paintings, mirrors, etc.
- Unpacking all the stuff we packed back in.
- Prepare inventory list so you and we know what is stored.
Pack and go with contents storage
To prepare for the move via storage, we like to visit you for an appraisal. Then one of our moving consultants estimates how many people and what equipment will be needed to store the contents. On the day of the move, the moving van arrives with the storage container. This is often a 20ft. shipping container, but can also be a wooden crate. The moving crew loads the belongings into the container. Once everything is packed, they close the container and set course for our storage warehouse. When you are ready and want your belongings back, we will agree on a moving date and the moving van with the container will arrive. The moving crew will unpack it and put it in its place.
Contents storage in shipping container or wooden crate
We have several types of storage methods. The most commonly used is a 20ft. shipping container. In such a container fits about 30m3. This is often enough for the contents of a normal house. The sea container fits exactly on the back of a truck. In our storage warehouse in Nunspeet, the overhead crane takes the container from the truck and puts it automatically in the right place. It bases the place on the date. So the containers that have to be taken out first are placed in front. The containers that have to stay for a while are placed in the back. The inside of the shipping container is lined with wood to absorb moisture and has a total of ten ventilation grates, five on each side.
We use a wooden crate for smaller belongings. A wooden crate fits about 9m3. Because the crates are made of wood, any moisture is absorbed and the contents remain tidy. We stack the crates three high in the warehouse with a forklift truck. Then no one can reach them.
Your possessions are high and dry
By hiring an Erkende Verhuizer you can be sure that your possessions are stored frost-free and dry. But at Kattenberg Removals we do more than that! The warehouse where the crates and containers are stored is fully equipped with underfloor heating. As a result, the warehouse has a constant temperature of about 17°C. The temperature is continuously measured in two places in the warehouse, we carry out inspections of the grounds and for pests several times a year. This way we and you can be sure that your belongings remain tidy and you will still recognize them when you get them back.
Contents storage safely under lock and key
Every container is locked or behind a fence. Only authorized personnel can enter the warehouse. This is how we keep out people who don’t belong and guarantee a safe storage facility. Want to stop by to pick out storage? You can! But please make an appointment, and we’ll set up the container for you.
